The Hispanic National Mortgage Association (“HNMA”) is a for-profit company focused on increasing homeownership opportunities for thousands of Hispanic families. We believe the mortgage industry has not been responsive to the particular needs of Hispanics and other minority groups, thus restricting credit and homeownership opportunities.

While millions of American families have gained access to a home and to all the benefits brought upon by homeownership (76% of non-Hispanic whites are homeowners), homeownership rates among Hispanics remain unexplainably low (48% of Hispanics are homeowners): only a small percentage of this difference is explained by the prevailing income differential. This difference, which we call the Hispanic Homeownership Gap is creating significant social hurdles for the Hispanic Community. Unique behavioral, cultural, and idiosyncratic characteristics of the Hispanic population have not been understood and embraced by industry players in the build-up of the different components that make up the mortgage market.

With this market inefficiency in mind, we are building businesses around the primary and secondary mortgage industry focused on Hispanics’ particular characteristics that ultimately lead to differentiated income structures and credit characteristics. While we have built our company around the understanding of the particular needs of the Hispanic customer, there are many characteristics that are shared across other minority groups and other immigrants, and as such we will also help a significant number of non-Hispanic families that have been underserved.

We are passionate about our mission and believe the American Dream should be open to all residents of this great country. Join us in challenging the status quo of the mortgage industry to create millions of new Hispanic and other minority homeowners.
